Faculty of Philology
Established in 2017, the Faculty of Philology primarily focuses on Russian language and culture education and research. It began enrolling undergraduate and master's students in Russian studies in 2017, followed by doctoral candidates in 2018, having established a complete bachelor's-master's-doctoral talent cultivation system that has yielded significant achievements in academic competitions, research literacy development, and practical knowledge application.
The Russian Language program aims to cultivate specialists with solid foundational knowledge, proficient language skills, strong adaptability, and comprehensive qualities to meet communication needs in diplomacy, international trade, education, research, culture, and economic sectors. It provides high-caliber talent support for China's Belt and Road Initiative, the Eurasian Economic Union, and regional socioeconomic development.
The Faculty boasts a robust teaching team, having formed an internationalized, high-level faculty comprising renowned Russian scholars, global academic leaders, and outstanding young educators. Currently, its 27 faculty members include 15 seconded from Russian institutions, with 18 holding associate senior titles or above and 9 lecturers. The program director is Professor A.V. Ledenev from Moscow State University's Philology Faculty - a celebrated Russian educator and literati. Teaching staff includes internationally recognized experts like Corresponding Member V.V. Polonsky. To date, the Faculty has secured over ten national/ministerial-level research projects from China and Russia, published 80 academic works (including textbooks), and maintained an average of 6 research papers per faculty member, with all teachers actively engaged in research and pedagogical innovation to support the Faculty's domestic and international advancement.
The Faculty maintains a 97.59% graduate employment rate and 91.57% further education rate, with alumni pursuing master's degrees at institutions including Moscow State University, RUDN University, Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, China University of Political Science and Law, East China Normal University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Edinburgh, and University of Manchester. Employers include PICC Life Insurance Shenzhen Branch and other organizations.
