Faculty of Chemistry

The Faculty of Chemistry was established by leveraging the globally leading foundational disciplines of chemistry at Lomonosov Moscow State University and combining the first-class disciplinary strengths and outstanding engineer training practices of Beijing Institute of Technology in chemical engineering, materials chemistry, and related fields. In 2022, the Faculty began enrolling students in its undergraduate program "Chemistry".

The Faculty has steadily advanced its disciplinary development. In 2023, it launched its master's program in "Inorganic Chemistry", followed by the addition of master's programs in both "Inorganic Chemistry" and "Radiochemistry" in 2024. That same year, doctoral programs in "Physical Chemistry", "Radiochemistry" and "Analytical Chemistry" were introduced. As of 2024, the Faculty has a total enrollment of 116 students, including 106 undergraduates, 9 master's students, and 1 doctoral candidate (among them, 93 are Chinese nationals and 23 are international students).

The Faculty's teaching team comprises scholars seconded by Moscow State University and Beijing Institute of Technology, as well as outstanding talents recruited globally. The Faculty collaborates with the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and renowned corporate research institutes domestically and internationally to jointly advance talent cultivation and scientific research. To support practical courses and scientific research, the Faculty is equipped with internationally advanced laboratory facilities and instruments, while also establishing extensive research and technical collaborations with numerous enterprises worldwide. The Faculty continuously optimizes its course materials, and the Shenzhen MSU-BIT University Library has acquired cutting-edge electronic databases and a wealth of academic resources for chemistry, laying a solid foundation for professional talent development.
